Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is one of the most common mental disorders. In the presented research project, the role of attentional processes for SAD in children and adolescents was investigated. After giving a short outline from the first funding phase, Vera Hauffe presents the research hypotheses for the second phase, as well as modifications of the experiment, with emphasis on Tobii Pro Lab.

After Vera Hauffe finished her studies of psychology at the Universities of Mannheim, Nagoya and Freiburg and entering practical training to become a psychotherapist in CBT for children and adolescents, Vera started her PhD at the University of Freiburg. Her area of research is emotional reactivity and emotion regulation in children and adolescents with mental disorders, especially social anxiety disorder.
